Citrus Iberia is a British / Spanish property estate agent whose combined experience offers over 15 years knowledge of the Spanish real estate market.

Starting life in 2002 as a Property Management Company based in the Jalon Valley on the Costa Blanca, Citrus Iberia was formed by the merging of  ‘Citrus Villa Care’ which was run by Deborah Cooper in Spain, and Home Iberia a Berkshire based management company run by Luis Esquerdeiro, a Spanish national who decided that it was in his best interests to return to Spain after nearly 30 years in the UK.

Deborah had spent 4 years working in property rentals and sales in the UK for a Spanish Based internet advertising company which gave her the experience needed to operate her own property management, lettings and sale business when she moved to Spain in 2002.  A Brit living and working in Spain, she had been running a successful property management and rentals business with 18 clients and properties to rent, she lacked the Spanish language and therefore had difficulty breaking into the Spanish market and dealing with the legal bureaucracy involved in running a business.

Luis moved from northern Spain to the UK in 1973 but still owned a 5-bed villa on the Costa Blanca. However, he had great difficulty finding someone he could rely on to look after it. After putting it in the hands of a ‘friend’, he later found that it had been rented out in his absence, and on one occasion, arriving unannounced, found that a family had been living in there for 6 weeks!  He then decided there was a niche in the market for absent property owners looking to place their property in the hands of a trustworthy and reliable agent, and opened ‘Home Iberia Limited’ in the UK in 1990.

We therefore combined our experiences and knowledge to form Citrus Iberia Limited in 2002, with offices in the UK and Spain.

Citrus Iberia changed its status from Limited to CB in 2005 when Luis moved on to pastures new and opened a restaurant and was run by sole director Deborah for the next 7 years from offices in Benissa.

Luis has since returned to Citrus Iberia and is concentrating solely on property sales in the north Costa Blanca Marina Alta area whilst Debbie will will the property management and rentals.  Although we are still a small business, we take great satisfaction in offering ‘the personal touch’, so often lacking with larger companies. We are working on the Costa Blanca with a small team of conscientious, trustworthy and dedicated professional people whose aim it is to provide an excellent level of service.
