Happy Xmas from Citrus Iberia
Dear Debbie,

Up to now, the weather has been 'primavera', but all of the sudden, on the Costa Blanca North (South of Alicante the weather is better still) the heavens have broken loose and it hasn't stop raining for a week! The consequence of these torrential rains are: - flooded streets, avalanches of washed away building soil and gravel covering roads, power cuts, flooded homes, leaking ceilings and shoes filled with water when you step outside. Spanish roads are not built with a camber as in the UK, which results in their flat surfaces just filling up like a river. The most annoying problem of all is the terrible noise the water makes during Eastenders on patios and flat roofs due to the lack of guttering. All this is not fun, but it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt as it is the price that must be paid for other nine months of sunny and pleasant temperatures.

The annual average Costa Blanca temperature is 210C which attracts retirees and people suffering congenital heart problems, rheumatic and arthritic complaints. The Costa Blanca is also the closest resort to the UK that offers such magnificent weather conditions.

Over 500,000 British people own properties in Spain, and more than half this number in the Costa Blanca. A further 500,000 Brits are expected to purchase properties abroad with in the next 5 years - a large number of them expected on the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida. One has to expect that with this large number of property owners there will be a need for Property Management Services, although the rentals business may well suffer as more and more properties come on the holiday rental market.


One Year on!
