Summer is on its way and anyone looking to rent this season should be advertising their property as soon as possible to take advantage of the high level enquiries which are generated at this time of year. Normally holiday bookings are made well before May, although there are those that wait until the last minute hoping to 'bag a bargain'!
It has been predicted that Spain will have one of the hottest years on record, and the last week has been gorgeous here on the Costa Blanca with temperatures in the high twenty's. Personally, I hope it is not as the summer temperatures can become unbearable at times.

As well as the new office in Mojacar which is now up and running, our third company office will be opening soon on the Orihuela Costa. The new managers have just arrived in Villamartin this week having spent the last two years running their own business in Florida and would hope to be open for business within the next 4-6 weeks. Although we do currently offer our services to property owners in the south Costa Blanca, this has always been via a local agent and will made a lot easier to control when dealing with our own logistical office in the area.
Having a reliable local management company in place to take care of things whilst you are away, is paramount - especially if you rent. In February alone, we had three cases of utilities being cut off through no fault of the owners. Had we not been undertaking regular property checks, this would have gone unnoticed until the owners - or their guests, arrived at the property. Two of these cases occurred when the changeover was made from builders supply to mains. Unfortunately here in Spain, letters are generally addressed to the property, not the owners home address, so many people do not know that there are forms waiting to be signed before this changeover can take place. Often, no letters are sent at all. The utility companies will simply not connect a supply without this authority, leaving many new properties without electric and water.
